OT Capella Grey Feat. Ty Dolla $ign
We all know Capella Grey can create some fantastic summer music. In 2021, his song “Gyalis” was a candidate for song of the summer, and now it appears like he’s attempting to outdo himself.
Capella collaborates with Ty Dolla $ign on the silky smooth “OT.” Ty shows to be an excellent fit for Capella, as the two swap bars over a G-funk groove. Both singers’ lyrics emphasise keeping a relationship low-key and enjoying a casual affair. Ty’s lyric, in particular, is evocative of the Caribbean: he speaks about Tulum, Caribbean water, cannabis, and gin and juice. The song is steeped with autotuned vocal lines that wash over the listener.
Since his last album, the 2020 Quarantape Vibe 1, Capella Grey has been releasing singles here and there. On “Confujawn,” he teamed with Nija and included Chlöe in a “Gyalis” remix (or, as it’s dubbed, “shemix”). Grey stated in an interview with MIXJAMZ in 2021 that he loathed music. Let’s hope for a better year in 2022.
