Steph Curry was the first recipient of Magic’s inaugural award.
Steph Curry has been outstanding throughout the NBA playoffs, and he appears to be on his way to a fourth championship. Of course, there is still one more round to go, but the Warriors appear to be in good shape, since they will face either the Boston Celtics or the Miami Heat. Both of these teams lack the same level of experience as the Warriors, and many consider the Warriors to be the favorites.
Curry and his teammates defeated the Dallas Mavericks in a hard-fought game last night. Curry received the inaugural Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP Award after the game. Curry was honored to receive it, and it turns out that the award’s namesake was pleased with the recipient as well.
“It’s incredible that @StephenCurry30, basketball’s greatest shooter, a buddy, future Hall of Famer, and kind guy, received the first ever Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP award!! Congratulations!” Johnson remarked. These two men are both point guards, but they played the game in completely different ways. In any case, this could be a premonition of the NBA Finals, where Curry will be seeking his first-career Finals MVP.
It's really cool that the greatest shooter basketball has ever seen, a friend, future hall of famer, and great person, @StephenCurry30 won the first ever Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP award!! Congratulations! 🏆
