Not everyone agreed with Latto’s teaser when she said her new song “P*ssy” would be released this week. Some claimed that the Georgia singer, who included footage from the Roe v. Wade demonstrations in her teaser, was taking use of the abortion issue for commercial gain. “Y’all moan about female rap missing substance but then claim I’m ‘capitalizing’ when I talk on sh*t [emojis] help me understand???” Latto clapped back at her critics without hesitation. She also said she wanted to donate the single’s revenues.
Latto appears to take a few potshots at her detractors in the song by spitting bars on the topic of women’s bodies not being owned by men. She raps, “You guys sexualize lesbians but you guys amuse me / They interact and then gossip live from they mama basement.” Latto also discusses monogamy, gender norms, and men who stand up for abusers.
